today alone i must have seen about 8 different people playing with their portable playstations. on the mrt, at the bus stop, walking in the middle of a cycling track.
one week ago i played soccer with my platoon mates at the east coast cage. a group of us had subway for lunch, after which we split up to head home. one of them was taking the same bus with me as we stayed in the same area. after 9 weeks i knew he was a guy of few words yet i never expected him to immediately retrieve his psp from his bag once we got on board. i was quite unhappy. i could count the number of words we exchanged from that point onwards with my fingers alone (halfway through the trip he finished one game, looked at me and said, "you wanna play?").
i'll probably never see him again. all i have is a memory and an unfortunate impression of the dude.
cai was right la. you do see the wierdest people in army, as well as all those in between. one realises there are people who stay at home the whole day and conduct their social activities over the internet. people who have passion for marching and strong views against governments and idealisms. people who bathe. people who don't bathe.
people that play dota.
ok so they ain't that wierd. that's just our generation.
but the psp may be a bane of this gen. or one of the many (facebook comes to mind).
monday morning i'll meet my bunk mate at yew tee mrt before heading for my first day with the military police. should be exciting.
nice to know many of my friends got into command school.
listen to shearwater. they'll have a new album out this year.
