hey marksman!

three songs today.

rodrigo y gabriela's stairway to heaven.

oceansize - ornament/the last wrongs.

signs, the signs invisible
trace the trail and follow you
wherever you will lead me
to the heart of me and you
spilling grief to answer to
a god who never answers you
feathernest invest and gain
shiny brass is milk and grain
and yours is to just sustain
and chip away with haste
treasure time and savour taste

stay asleep now everyone
into position
everyone into their place

elliott smith - see you later.

Walk through thick mud
Looking for new blood,
Thinking I heard your name,
Cruel imagination
Still giving me pain,
Just to find you with your master minder
Running your affairs,
Saying how you're better now
Since it killed all your other cares.

See you later
See you later
If I see you at all.

i enjoy it when my bunkmates enjoy my guitar sessions. happy playing with two guitars too.

marksman comes with a badge and 2oo dollars.

went out with the gang last night and came home very happy too. besides that i can also claim to kwong that i've seen fiona xie up close.

ok so what.

lake garda

envy.

i just watched for the first time a channel newsasia clip on the ssf youtube channel, reporting on the optiworlds team racing. it showed boats bobbing around in light wind, including a 4.7 sailor with 'cheng' displayed on the sail.

scene language is back!

i feel constrained inside the camp. for 5 times 24 hours a week we're pretty much confined within an area of 50 m radius. there's a reason the things i look forward to are mealtimes (where we get a 200m walk to the kranji camp cookhouse) and live runs on mondays, wednesdays and fridays (just did a 7.2 k on friday).

the lack of freedom and the boredom really gets to me sometimes. my buddy can attest to this - like when we were waiting for our technical handling test on wednesday.

the other things i look forward to are the cold showers, playing table tennis in the musket lounge, guitar in the bunk, talking rubbish through the night. also my tuesday night chat on the phone. some feminine company is nice.

i'm trying to learn to play the intro to this song. here is hotel california. from 'hell freezes over'.

Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,' said the night man
We are programmed to receive
You can checkout any time you like
But you can never leave

i see, ic.

lele has been following me around. first he was in apache company during our bmt, just next to mine, so i saw him pretty often. he was posted to rp for 2 weeks then to the k9 unit in my camp for the next 2 weeks. now he's staying in a bunk one floor below me, and i have lunch with him every so often.

he's attached to a german shephard!

the most hilarious thing is spying their dog handling drills.

"kablakan pu-seng!"
"...kneel! kneel! kneel! kneel!"

while the dogs stare blankly at

the trainees.

the gpmg looks like something fashioned out of hell by the devil himself. next week we will have live firing.

next week i'll be course ic. i hope i receive my letter of persuasion tomorrow.

acronyms

there are so many of them that altogether they become meaningless.
ret, dne, dsq, ocs, ocs.
i've been in school the last 2 weeks. sleeping through lectures but still passing the test on thursday.
confused yet? yes i am.
