schweet.

i had two amazing phone calls today. yes!

nothing is going to spoil today.
nothing is going to spoil this weekend.
nothing will spoil this coming week.
nothing will spoil this two months.

mono here i come.

i feel like i could float through the ceiling.

Marillion playing Easter Live.

steve hogarth has a most unique voice. what will you do, make a stone of your heart? will you set things right, when you tear them apart?

the first one is the original version, while the second one is a more meditative take on the same song. i like both for different reasons. take note of the subtle change from 6/8 to a 5/8 beat after the solo in the first.

jigsaw falling into place.

The walls are bending shape
You got a cheshire cat grin
All blurring into one
This place is on a mission.

now there's another twist in the plot! we'll see whether it's a red herring.

Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes.

march the crooked mile
in single file
with a smile.

i'm reduced to a reluctant, resigned, rebellious private when i'm in green.

and here's the last piece. the night duty shift song is by aerosmith:
i don't wanna close my eyes,
i don't wanna fall asleep
cuz i miss you baby
and i don't wanna miss a thing.

haunted by the presence of the things i miss

it's nice to strum in a small room.

this week taught me a lot. i had a lot of free time, so i wrote about 11 pages of diary and thoughts monday through friday. i wrote with varying degrees of emotions; anger, sadness, happiness, satisfaction.

one thing week 24 of the year 2008 taught me is that perfect 10 98.7fm is in a class 95 of it's own. they're amazing. all the hip-hop and r&b stuff really get me going and all worked up. there should never be a reason for me to hear the same song more than a few times a day. let alone the same set of songs 3 or 4 times a day. let alone hear 'take me on a trip i'd like to see l.a.', 'that's what you get when you let your heart win' 5 times a day. i hear it in the bunk, in the car, in the van, and in the bunk again. bloody awesome.

it appears i haven't mentioned voxtrot here yet. they're fantastic, go listen to 'ghost'.

i am learning how to be lost completely.

well at least the radio played one gem of a song when i was feeling kinda moody on the way to changi at an ungodly hour somewhere between monday and tuesday. it's 'unwell' by matchbox twenty.

all day,
staring at the ceiling making
friends with shadows on my wall.

all night,
hearing voices telling me
that i should get some sleep
because tomorrow might be good for something.

see, i'm more relieved than anything else,
really happy with the way the week has gone yet
terribly unsatisfied that in the end i didn't get what i wanted.

See, I'm all about them words
Over numbers, unencumbered numbered words
Hundreds of pages, pages, pages for words
More words than I had ever heard

see, i'm not looking forward to night shift for next week.

I don't ever want to be alone like this
Haunted by the presence of the things I miss.

Morning bell
Morning bell
Light another candle
Release me
Release me.
